In the slums of Belém, the biggest city of Northern Brazil, is the “Centro Educacional Moaraná”. This is a unique school, which give opportunities for a better life to children of the poorest of the poor. Moaraná means free yourself. The existence of the school is depending on support from Holland. The Dutch NGO friends for Moaraná take care of this. They also encourages initiatives from the school to create their own income.
