Zanzibits is an initiative from the Dutch NGO Butterfly Works and Guy Mullens and was founded in 2007. The multimedia school opened its doors in Stonetown, The capital of Zanzibar in 2008. Zanzibits has as goal: educating deprived youth in Multimedia specialties, such as building websites and assisting them afterwards with starting a career in this field. Zanzibits is a partner of Nairobits a similar organization situated in Nairobi, Kenya. They have been active for a few years already and have been very successful in educating deprived youth from the slums of Nairobi. Zanzibits aims to achieve a similar goal on Zanzibar in the coming years.
