The Lideke Wery Foundation was founded to keep alive the memory of Lideke Wery, who died on while on her honeymoon in Thailand, in the tsunami on Boxing Day 2004. In her memory, her husband and coworkers began the foundation, with the goal of helping the victims of the tsunami. In recent years, as the effects of the tsunami are waning, the foundation focuses more on offering developmental opportunities to young people in Thailand.
