A short history of the Sprangers Construction Company:
Lambertus Sprangers settled down in Napoleonic times (1796) in Princenhage, a small town in the south of The Netherlands, and started working as a carpenter. This is seen as the origin of the Sprangers construction company.
The business developed and around 1810 the company was running successfully. By then Lambertus had a number of employees. His son, Adrianus, took over the company in the middle of the 19th century. This did not go without difficulties. In the first few years there was an economic slowdown. This did not discourage Adrianus and he kept the business running. When Anton, the youngest son of Adrianus, entered the family company, business improved significantly. By this time, near the end of the 19th century, the company celebrated its 100th year anniversary.
We believe that to create sustainable, lasting change we must start by offering children the best possible start in life. The Marthe van Rijswijck Foundation offers financial support to projects and organisations working towards sustainable development, particularly projects focussing on children. Some organisations have multiple projects that fit our requirements, so we fund several of their projects.
