The Ekenywa Village Health Project of the Medical Missionaries of Mary has been founded in 2001. Sister Mariana Mushi is in charge of the project. She drives in a Land Rover to remote areas and offers medical assistance to 11.500 people. May 2005 the Land Rover was stolen and later found back completely burned out. A new Land Rover cost $ 52.000,- The Medical Missionaries of Mary have contacted all their contacts with a request for Financial assistance. They collected more than $ 77.000,- and were be able to buy two new Land Rovers. The MvRF has contributed to the cost of one of the Land Rovers.
