NGO Hulp aan de Tibetanen (Help The Tibetan people) was established in 1963 and has as main goal maintaining the Tibetan culture. The project that is supported by the MvRF concerns the purchase of mattresses for 260 students who fled Tibet under Chinese occupation and did not have a future in Tibet. In India they are received in Tibetan children’s villages where they receive education, shelter and medical care. This group concerns a group of older youth who are following practical education. The centre where the youth follow their education consist of 246 youth. Three years ago the students moved to the location where they are living now. Back then cheap mattresses were bought these are completely worn out by now.
