Stichting Blijvende Hulp voor Roemenië (SBHVR), which means Foundation for Lasting Relief in Romania, is the Dutch partner of Romanian foundation Fundatia Alpha Transilvana (FAT), from Tirgu Mures. Since the year 2000, SBHVR focuses on collecting clothing for the poorest people and fundraising for special projects by FAT. The goal of the foundation is to help Romanian people in need, irrespective of colour, religion or background.
SBHVR was founded in 1991, when, following the revolution, it became legal to help the population of Romania. Their first project was the building of a convalescent care facility for children with disabilities in Tirgu Mures.
