In 2015 Nepal suffered a large earthquake that brought great damage to Studenten-Musaharproject Foundation’s project area in the Gorkha district in North Nepal. The years after the earthquake they raised money for emergency aid for the region and in 2017 they built seven new schools. However, the schools needed more attention as the smaller and more remote locations received less aid from government bodies and larger organisations. For this reason SMPN set up multiple projects in the Gorkha region to help each school individually. The projects concerned school furniture, water facilities, libraries and computer projects. Each project was unique and focussed on the need of the individual schools.

More than 4000 students (as well as teachers and families) profited from these projects. Education is very important in the region and the support of the schools gives the locals the strength to carry on and see the future in a positive light again.
